Winter is now here (snow and all), and Teesside has delivered a jam-packed month of festive fun events. We've created a list of just a few of the wonderful events happening in Teesside this December. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, there are lots of great things coming to town to help you enjoy the winter months. This list has been developed so that you can have the best winter yet.

Love Norton Advent Trail

Date: 1st December - 28th December 2023

Location: St. Mary's Church Norton Parish Hall

Head to St Mary's Church at 4pm for the Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Cllr Jim Beall, to light the church windows in celebration. After that, join us at the Church for mulled wine and food. Follow the illuminated window trail across Norton beginning December 1 to learn about the advent tale. The Advent window theme for this year is all about Christmas! Along with the Nativity Story, participants this year produced windows depicting well-known Christmas tunes and carols.

Festive evening at Ormesby Hall

Take advantage of Ormesby Hall's late-night opening, which has festive music, food and drink vendors by the fire pit, and the opportunity to see the house decked out for Christmas.

Stockton Sparkles Mini-Candle Holder Workshop

Visit the Stockton town centre and join in on the joyous festivities in the Sparkles festive tipi for New Leaf's little candle pot workshops. This is a limited-sector workshop that requires a ticket.

Yarm Christmas Tree Lights Switch On and Carols on the Cobbles

Join Yarm Town Council for a winter spectacle with seasonal Carols on the Cobbles during their annual light turn-on!

Christmas Tree Festival

Date: 24th November - 7th December 2023

Location: St. Mary's Church Norton Parish Hall

You can look through a sea of Christmas trees created by neighbourhood companies, educational institutions, and youth organisations in St. Mary's Church Norton Parish Hall. In addition, the church will be holding a Christmas Fayre on Saturday, November 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. brimming with festivities, music, gifts, and stalls to enjoy.

Middlesbrough on Ice

Date: 8th December - 31st December 2023

Location: Centre Square

Prepare to be enchanted by the charm of the festive season at Middlesbrough on Ice! You can put on your skates and glide around the real ice rink until late December; Christmas VIPs, Santa, and the Grinch will also be on the ice.

Tis The Season Norton

Date: Saturday 9th December 2023

Tis' The Season is presented by Norton Business Group in collaboration with the Norton Green Market organisers! A live reindeer family, a marquee showcasing Christmas crafts, an indoor and outdoor market with over 30 independent local shops, and hot refreshments are all included.

Santa on Wheels

Date: 14th December - 17th December 2023

Location: High Street

Visit Stockton Town Centre to see Santa on Wheels, who will be returning to the Borough aboard his spectacular Santa bus. Give him a wave as he passes by; additional information on routes and timings will be available soon!

Santa Visit & Christmas Crafts

Date: 16th December - 17th December 2023

Location: Flatts Lane Woodland Country Park

Flatts Lane Woodland Country Park is often popular at this time of year, with Santa making a special appearance in his grotto. Children will receive a present from Santa and can have fun making Christmas crafts while they wait to meet Santa.

100 Voices Christmas Concert

Date: Thursday 21st December 2023

Location: Middlesbrough Town Hall, Albert Road

The 100 Voices Christmas Concert takes place at Middlesbrough Town Hall. The South Tees NHS choir will join one of the largest choirs in the Northeast, directed by MD Jeanette Wainwright, for this event. With 140 members, they will sing in harmony anything from Rihanna's "Lift Me Up" to Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus," as well as all of your favourite Christmas music.
